Powers of Attorney

A durable power of attorney is a key component in a comprehensive estate plan, even when there is a revocable trust, because the agent may carry out certain actions when the trustee has no authority. A durable power of attorney, unless restricted by its own terms, confers on the agent the authority to act in any way that the you could act, including but not limited to real and personal property transactions, sale or refinance of real property, financial and banking transactions, insurance, benefits, litigation, and estate matters. The durable power of attorney may be effective immediately or only upon your incapacity. The durable power of attorney remains effective until it is revoked or amended.
