Attorney D. Lee Hedgepeth is a Shareholder and Director for the Curtis Legal Group. He has been a member of the firm for his entire legal career.

He has represented insurers, corporations, government entities and individuals in civil litigation matters encompassing a wide variety of claims including product liability, premises liability and major motor vehicle claims. He has also represented clients in cases involving personal injury defense and resolution of workers' compensation and other liens. He has in addition had experience as a provider of Alternative Dispute Resolution services.

Mr. Hedgepeth received his B.A. from California State University, Stanislaus in 1975, and his law degree from the University of the Pacific's McGeorge School of Law, in 1979. He passed the Bar and joined the firm in December of that year.

Mr. Hedgepeth is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California, and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Defense Comment Magazine, that organization's publication. He is also a member of the Stanislaus County Bar Association.

He is admitted to practice in all of the courts of the state of California and the United States District Court, Eastern District of California.

His extensive community involvement throughout his legal career has included

  • California State University, Stanislaus, Foundation Board 1996 - 2005, (President of the Foundation, 1997-1998);

  • City of Modesto Citizens Redevelopment Advisory Committee, on which he currently serves as Vice-Chair;

  • Board of Directors of the Stanislaus County Chapter of the American Red Cross Chair of City of Modesto Citizen's Redevelopment Agency's Housing Committee;

  • Staff-Parish Relations Committee (present) and Board of Trustees (past) of First United Methodist Church of Modesto

  • Board of Directors of the United Way of Stanislaus County (twelve years service) together with various officer's positions.

  • Citizens' Housing and Community Development Committee of the City of Modesto

  • Board of Directors of Modesto Downtown Improvement District.
